Elegant Eggplant Butterfly Pansy

This is one of the January class cards we did using the butterfly punch to make a pansy.  I've seen this technique on several different blogs and it's very fun to do.

Punch 2 butterflies using the Shimmery White cardstock.  Spray with water until wet but not puddling and using the aqua painter brush filled with water, 2 colors of ink refills, put ink on tip of brush and dot the center (I used daffodil yellow and elegant eggplant)  then use the darker and do the edges.  Let dry for about 1/2 hr.  The color does get darker as it dries.  Curl the edges before putting together.  You can use a marker to draw the lines in the center and put together with a brad.

Recipe
Stamp set: Sincere Salutations, Sanded BG
Cardstock - elegant eggplant, daffodil yellow, whisper white, old olive
Ink - elegant eggplant, daffodil yellow
Accessories: Big Shot, Perfect Polka dot & square lattice embossing folders, Perfect details texture plate, 5 petal flower punch, butterfly punch, Itty Bitty shapes punch, corner rounder, decorative label punch, dotted scallop ribbon border punch.

Hope you enjoy

Happy Stampin

  1. Beautiful card! I love the idea of using the butterfly punch for the flower. I would have never thought of that. My mom loves pansies, so I will definitely need to try this. TFS.
